The
Willow City loop is a spectacular drive with lots of wildlife,
including native whitetail deer, and beautiful scenery.
To take the loop, drive north on Hwy. 16 for 13.5 miles
and turn right at Eckert. Proceed 2.7 miles to Willow City
and turn left at FM 1323. The road meanders 13.1 miles in
a northwesterly direction, intersecting with Hwy. 16. Take
Hwy. 16 back to Fredericksburg.
The
small town of Luckenbach lies a few miles east of Fredericksburg.
It can be reached by driving east on Hwy. 290 (about 6 miles)
then turning right on RR 1376. Proceed 5 miles and turn
right immediately before the low water crossing.
